Family’s Verbal Provenance tells that this chair came from an Episcopal Church in Pennsylvania. The family moved from Philadelphia to the Atlanta area in the early 1930’s and brought with them three pieces from this collection.
Verbal Provenance says the Chest, Gothic Chair and Gothic Bench all came from the divinity schools office. The Divinity school began in 1858.
This chair is ornately carved and appears to be made of oak. The seat has been recovered at some later date. It is not known who this chair originally belonged to.
